The following equipment may void your existing shingle warranty if used to clean your roof. Our system is the only roof cleaning method approved by ARMA (Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association).
Pressure Washer
A pressure washer or high pressure cleaner is a mechanical device that uses a pump to generate a high-pressure stream of water
(up to 5000 PSI - residential/commercial and up to 70,000 PSI for industrial) to clean hard surfaces. These systems are not to be used
on Asphalt or Fiberglass Shingles. This amount of pressure will cause the roofing materials to disintegrate almost immediately resulting
in extensive damage and possible interior leaks. *Even if a pressure washer has a "low-pressure" attachment, your warranty may be voided if damage occurs.
Aluminum Surface Cleaner
An aluminum surface cleaner or aluminum disc is a mechanical device used with a pressure washer or high pressure cleaner. These devices use water jets that usually put off 1,000 - 4,000 PSI, which is perfect for cleaning concrete, pavers, and other various hard surfaces, but not your roof! You want to avoid this method as it is also very harsh and may void any existing warranty.
Water Broom
A water broom is a device that uses high pressure water jets at close range, usually in a wide format allowing for more direct contact.
Like many other high pressure devices, this form of cleaning only spreads the bacteria and doesn't prevent it from coming back.
